Defend the Life of Tariq Aziz and His Comrades

Today as Iraq, the land of two rivers and mother of civilization, struggles to liberate itself from the occupiers, the occupiers seek to martyr the leadership of Iraq through show trials. As with President Hussein and Vice President Ramadan before him, the Zionist/imperialist/Iranian occupation puppet courts seek the righteous blood of Tariq Aziz, Foreign Minister of Iraq, and that of seven of his comrades.

“Charges” stem from the 1992 execution of merchants engaged in price speculation at a time Iraq was under a homicidal embargo: that is real enemies engaged in increasing the starvation and suffering of the Iraqi people. Aside from the clear hypocrisy of a “trial” under occupation and obvious justness of the actions for which the eight are accused, one finds such charges laughably absurd as matters of commerce didn’t even fall under Aziz’s duties!

Having had Aziz under custody since the early days of the occupation without charges, now the Zionist/imperialist/Iranian enemies have only this to show for themselves!

If the enemies slaughter the resistance detainees in the months to come, as they have done to the people of Iraq and Palestine, they are only showing the way forward through Jihad and martyrdom. It seems they have not learned from their bloodlust against President Saddam Hussein.

We demand freedom for Tariq Aziz and his comrades who always stood shoulder to shoulder with President Saddam Hussein to defend Palestine and the ethnic character of the Arab nation! The song of freedom fighters grows louder with martyrdom. Nothing can contain it forever!
