He made public many works such as Our Socialism Centered on the Masses Shall not Perish (May 1991), The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party (January 1992), Abuses of Socialism Are Intolerable (March 1993) and Socialism Is a Science (November 1994), in which he delineated in a comprehensive way the essential characteristics and advantage of Korean-style socialism centered on the popular masses, the reasons for the frustration of socialism in some countries and the way for its reconstruction.
Thanks to him, the socialist movement of the world could straighten out the crisis and meet a new turning point of reconstruction and upsurge.
The number of political parties that have signed the Pyongyang Declaration Let Us Defend and Advance the Cause of Socialism adopted in April 1992, has increased from 70 at that time to over 270 at presents.

معلم جديد لتوحيد كوريا
في الفترة ما بين 2-4 تشرين الأول الماضي، جرت اللقاءات و المحادثات في بيونغيانغ بين رئيس لجنة الدفاع الوطني لجمهورية كوريا الديمقراطية الشعبية كيم جونغ إيل و رئيس كوريا الجنوبية رو موهيون، و نتيجة ذلك تم صدور "الاعلان لتطوير العلاقات الشمالية الجنوبية و السلام و الازدهار" المرفق بتوقيع رئيسي الطرفين.
اتفق الطرفان، الشمال و الجنوب، في الاعلان علي المسائل التالية؛ أولا، سيواصل الشمال و الجنوب التزامهما باعلان 15 حزيران المشترك و تجسيده بنشاط و ثانيا، سيحولان العلاقات بينهما كليا الى علاقات الاحترام و الثقة المتبادلة بغض النظر عن الفوارق في الأفكار و النظام و ثالثا، سيتعاون الطرفان تعاونا وثيقا بينهما بغية وضع حد لعلاقات العداء العسكرية بينهما و تخفيف حدة التوتر في شبه الجزيرة الكورية و ضمان السلام فيها و رابعا، توحد الشمال و الجنوب في آرائهما بخصوص ضرورة وضع حد لنظام الهدنة الحالي القائم بينهما و اقامة نظام السلام الدائم، و يتعاونان في دفع مسألة لقاء قمة ثلاثة أو أربعة الأطراف من أصحاب الشأن المباشر في منطقة شبه الجزيرة الكورية و الاعلان عن انهاء الحرب و خامسا، سيقوم الطرفان بتنشيط التعاون الاقتصادي و توسيعه و تطويره المستديمين على أساس مبادئ المصلحة المشتركة و الازدهار المشترك و سد الحاجات المتبادلة من أجل التطوير المتوازن للاقتصاد القومي و الازدهار المشترك و سادسا، سيطوران التبادل و التعاون في المجالات الاجتماعية و الثقافية مثل التاريخ و اللغة و التعليم و العلوم و التكنولوجيا و الثقافة و الفن و الرياضة من أجل تمجيد تاريخ الأمة العريق و ثقافتها الرائعة و سابعا، سيدفعان عمل التعاون الانساني قدما بهمة و ثامنا، سيوطدان التعاون في المضمار الدولي من أجل مصلحة الأمة و الحقوق و المصالح لأبناء الأمة المغتربين.
ان أول ما يسترعى اهتمام الناس هو المادة الأولي: "سيواصل الشمال و الجنوب التزامهما باعلان 15 حزيران المشترك و تجسيده بنشاط."
في حزيران 2000 جرى في بيونغيانغ اللقاء التاريخي بين كيم جونغ إيل رئيس لجنة الدفاع الوطني لجمهورية كوريا الديمقراطية الشعبية و بين كيم داي جونغ رئيس جنوبي كوريا حينذاك و أسفر عن صدور اعلان 15 حزيران المشترك، مما حول العلاقات بين الشمال و الجنوب من علاقات العداء و المجابهة الى علاقات المصالحة و التعاون و التوحيد بعد مضي أكثر من نصف قرن.
الروح الرئيسية لهذا الاعلان هي مقولة "بين أبناء امتنا" أى الاستقلالية.
تم اعادة اثبات مبدأ الاستقلالية، المبدأ الرئيسي و حجر الأساس لتوحيد كوريا.
في هذا الاعلان الأخير اتفق الشمال و الجنوب على حل مسألة التوحيد بصورة مستقلة حسب روح مقولة "بين أبناء امتنا" و ايلاء الأهمية لكرامة الأمة و مصالحها و تسيير كل شيء نازعا اليها.
كما أوضح الاعلان مشاريع جديدة بشأن المسائل السياسية و العسكرية، بعبارة أخرى، مشاريع خاصة بتحويل العلاقات بينهما كليا الى علاقات الاحترام و الثقة المتبادلة و بالتعاون الوثيق بينهما بغية ضمان السلام في شبه الجزيرة الكورية.
تقدم الاعلان بمشارع جديدة لا مثيل لها مثل عمل كل من الشمال و الجنوب لتنسيق أجهزته القانونية و النظامية و عقد المحادثات بين وزير القوات المسلحة الشعبية و وزير الدفاع في الجنوب بغرض توفير الثقة العسكرية و تعاونهما لدفع مسألة لقاء قمة ثلاثة أو أربعة الأطراف من أصحاب الشأن المباشر في الحرب الكورية التى تفجرت في أوائل خمسينيات القرن الماضي، في منطقة شبه الجزيرة الكورية و الاعلان عن انهاء الحرب مما فتح الاعلان آفاقا للقضاء على العقبات الرئيسية لتوحيد كوريا.
كما عرض الاعلان مشاريع مفصلة حول تشديد التعاون في الميادين المختلفة مثل الاقتصاد و الثقافة و العمل الانساني.
اتفق الطرفان على تشجيع الاستثمارات للتعاون الاقتصادي و تنشيط انشاء بنى الاقتصاد التحتية و استنباط الموارد و اعطاء الأولية لمنح الظروف التفضيلية و المنافع الخاصة بشتى أنواعها بما يتلاءم مع خصائص شؤون التعاون الداخلية للأمة.
و اتفقا على اقامة "منطقة البحر الغربي الخاصة للسلام و التعاون" التى تشمل منطقة هايزو القريبة من الطرف الجنوبي و المنطقة البحرية المجاورة لها، بحيث فتحت آفاق لتوسيع منطفة التعاون الاقتصادي للشمال و الجنوب الى هايزو و نامبو على ساحل البحر الغربي و آنبيون على ساحل البحر الشرقي من الطرف الشمالي، ناهيك عن منطقة كايسونغ الصناعية.
و اتفق الطرفان على تشاور و دفع موضوع استخدام السكك الحديدية و الطرق المربوطة بين الشمال و الجنوب على نحو مشترك و على فتح الخطوط الجوية المباشرة بين جبل بايكدو و سيؤول بغرض توسيع السياحة الى جبل بايكدو، جبل أجداد الأمة الكورية و أعلى جبل في كوريا، ناهيك عن السياحة في جبل كومكانغ التى يقوم بها سكان جنوبي كوريا الآن.
و تعهد الطرفان باستخدام مجموعات المشجعين في الشمال و الجنوب المشاركين في دورة بكين للألعاب الأوليمبية عام 2008 قطار السكك الحديدية في الساحل الغربي لأول مرة.
كما و اتفقا على توسيع اللقاءات بين أفراد العائلات و الأقارب المشتتين، و الاسراع بعمل تبادل الرسائل على الشاشة.
و لهذا الغرض تعهدا باقامة الممثل الدائم من كلى الطرفين في دار المقابلات بجبل كومكانغ حيثما يستكمل بناؤها و اجراء اللقاءات بين أفراد العائلات و الأقارب المشتتين بانتظام.
حقا، تمنح مضامين الاعلان الثقة و التفاؤل عن آفاق تطوير العلاقات الشمالية و الجنوبية و التوحيد نظرا لأنها تتميز ببالغ التفصيل و التقدم.
اذ قبل أبناء الأمة الكورية اعلان 15 حزيران المشترك، معلم التوحيد قبل 7 سنوات فيتلقون اليوم معلم التوحيد الأكثر تفصيلا و دقة.
بقضل صدور الاعلان لتطوير العلاقات الشمالية الجنوبية و السلام و الازدهار، المعلم الجديد لتوحيد كوريا، سينبلج يوم توحيد كوريا في وقت قريب جدا.
