On Russia and China
--- John Paul Cupp,Public Relations Director of the North American Committee Against Zionism and Imperialism (NACAZAI)
Even when both Russia and China were fully socialist and more principled as anti-imperialist states they often made mistakes, like Soviet recognition of the Zionist entity. Even when both were making enormous sacrifices for the revolutionary struggle of the world’s people, those most needing to use Soviet or Chinese solidarity were states like north Korea which ultimately relied on their own efforts as primary and solidarity from friendly neighbors as auxiliary.

It shouldn’t be surprising that in an era when Russia is capitalist, has an economy that was completely raped and gutted by a few Jewish oligarchs following the end of the Soviet Union, and is now part of the “market economy,” that its capacity both for defending itself and for being an anti-imperialist beacon of hope is diminished. The same is true of China, which while being less willing to tolerate total rape of their domestic affairs than Russia, also abandoned true socialism for market flirtation and takes an opportunistic and pragmatic stand on imperialism in order to make more money. Both Russia and China are objectively anti-imperialist, but neither is even remotely anti-Zionist, and neither actively supports world resistance to imperialism. By contrast, both Russia and China purposefully work to subvert revolutionary regimes and national liberation struggles. Russia didn’t even defend its close ethnic brothers in Serbia. Should we be surprised that they allowed the US to invade Iraq and Afghanistan, and while voting against a UN-led war supported killer sanctions and normalized relations with occupation puppet regimes. Both have close ties to the Zionist entity and work to sabotage Arab unification and resistance. Both support close ties with south Korea, i.e. an artificial US client state and occupation project and work to subvert the defense capacity of the DPRK to the north. What is so ironic and comprador about this Russian and Chinese myopia is the long standing solidarity the Korean Revolution has had with both countries. Both Stalin and Mao were close, politically and spiritually, to the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung. Both countries spilt blood defending Korea’s revolution, and today Korea repays this solidarity by being the beachhead that prevents the US from raping Russia and China. Indeed, the irony is that the dear leader Kim Jong Il has done far more for the people of Russia and China than Hu Jin Tao and the Putinist clique combined! It is only Korea which is resilient and uncompromising at a time new US bases and WMDs show up to surround Russia and China as both countries, especially Russia, act as if this immediate threat of total war is acceptable, cute and hilarious! Should we really be surprised that neither country is worth much standing up to the US? Both countries have a great history and powerful working class anti-imperialist sentiment on the streets, but in the case of both regimes that sentiment is co-opted and subverted by a regime that then shakes hands with Barack Obama and goes on television to condemn anyone willing to shoot at American occupiers, stop their ability to trade in weapons with the Zionist entity or standing up for national self-determination. What a disgrace to the Russian and Chinese people to have such misleaders!

Even the heroic liberation of Abkhazia and South Ossetia didn’t happen because Putin and Medvedev are today’s Lenin and Stalin defending their tiny brothers against ethnic cleansing, but because the aggression by Georgia was so outstanding and ridiculously unacceptable that had the Russian regime not attacked, the streets would have forced them to attack. Both the Chinese and Russian regimes likely would become entirely and openly comprador if they weren’t forced by the revolutionary sentiment on the streets to maintain some semblance of being genuinely progressive and anti-imperialist.

It may at times be useful to wedge contradictions between Russia and China versus the US, but such a wedge is increasingly meaningless today, and was never really a viable alternative to one’s people waging a dynamic national struggle as masters of their own country. Furthermore, while it makes sense being friendly to both countries, as neither is an imperialist power, it also makes sense not letting them meddle in internal affairs and to be friendly with both eyes open.

It is extremely likely both Russia and China may need to overthrow their regimes to avoid the total devastation that is coming to the United States, as both regimes have dangerously flirted with “globalism” and the “global market”, i.e. euphemisms for imperialism and imperialist finance capital. Now they both risk the same ruin that will destroy the foundations of the US in due time. Let’s just hope more people like Stalin and Mao come forward to prevent such catastrophe!
